The Birders’ Club has been around for many years and it is an association under the Department of Zoology. It consists of academic staff members and student representatives as the office bearers. It is the only society in the Faculty of Science that specially contributes to the studies on birds and their habitats. The Birders’ Club promotes ornithological knowledge. This is an opportunity for birders to enjoy bird watching while developing their knowledge and skills. So far, the Birders club has done a lot of programs. Each and every program is under the guidance of the academic staff of members of the Birders’ club. We look forward to organizing more and more programs in the future and we warmly welcome all birders who are willing to take an amazing experience about the birds as a member of the Birders’ Club of the University of Ruhuna.
