The highly anticipated second phase of the Announcing and Dubbing workshop series, organised by the Science Media Mosaic, was held on 31st July 2024 from 02.00 PM onwards at the Prof. Alawaththagoda Pemadasa Auditorium. This workshop was led by Mrs. Sithara Kaluarachchi, a renowned media personality of Sri Lanka. It was a great success with over 100 enthusiastic participants from all the faculties at the Wellamadama Premises of the University of Ruhuna.
Prof. D. H. N. Munasinghe, Dean, Faculty of Science and the Patron of the Science Media Mosaic, Senior Prof. Dammini Premachandra, Dr. Jeewantha Sampath, Dr. Manjula De Silva, Dr. H.L. Jayathilake, Mrs. K.G.P. Hansani and Miss. Kavindya Jayawardana were presented in this event. Also, Professor. P.B. Terney Pradeep Kumara, Mrs. K.C.N. Shanthidevi, Dr. Madurani Edussuriya and Miss Nethmini Wilbagedara were presented to grace the event.
During the workshop, 37 undergraduates were proudly awarded certificates and awards for their achievements in the Announcing and Dubbing Competition, another successful event organised by the Science Media Mosaic which was held on 24th January 2024. The official logo of the Science Media Mosaic was also unveiled during the event by the Mrs. Sithara Kaluarachchi. The workshop aimed to enhance the announcing and presenting skills of the undergraduates. and also focused on improving their skills related to the effective and efficient delivery of content for their academic and future professional presentations. Mrs. Sithara Kaluarachchi, with her extensive experience, shared invaluable tips along with practical experiences, empowering the participants to become more confident and efficient presenters and announcers.
