  • This presentation was based on research carried out by an interdisciplinary team of researchers from law and computer science at the Queensland University of Technology on health data breaches in Australia. This is a timely topic given recent legal reform in this area (the introduction of mandatory data breach notification legislation) and real-life developments in digital healthcare in Australia and in other countries. The privacy and security of health data is a critical issue for the adoption of digital healthcare, especially for the widespread adoption of electronic health records.
